FAQS: Why is Impressive Basement Systems better than a hard wall system?

Our #1 goal is to simply educate consumers on the products available to remodel your basement so it's a clean, healthy, and comfortable environment. As a growing company, we would like nothing less than to be your choice as a basement finishing solution. At KAKS Home Improvements, we want you to know that you are getting the most favorable, and effective basement finishing system at the most affordable price.

Understanding Your Basement - Moisture, Mold & Mildew

The atmosphere in a basement is completely different from the rest of your home. The outer walls are the foundation, which are made of concrete. Concrete is a porous material which constantly absorbs moisture and releases it inward.  Whether or not you have actual water puddles in your basement from time to time, is not the only concern. The high moisture content in the air will eventually promote mold and mildew growth if exposed to wood, paper, carpets or food. The only prevention for mold and mildew is dehumidification and proper ventilation- our system literally breathes...allowing the air to circulate in your basement.

Ecobatt and ECOSE Technology

Our panels are made up of a material called EcoBatt. Impressive Basements came together with Knauf Insulation in providing our customers with a healthy and sustainable basement solution. It is a completely GREEN insulation, and for our walls they are manufactured into highly condensed panels. We take the EcoBatt and combine it with ECOSE Technology and no less than 30% post consumer recycled bottle glass, and you get a completely GREEN/ECO rated product. No chemicals, and no formaldehyde. Click here to watch a video about Ecobatt and ECOSE Technology by Knauf Insulation.

What is EcoBatt?

  • Combines sand, recycled post-consumer glass with ECOSE Technology for greater sustainability.

  • Legendary handling characteristics.

  • Saves hundreds of times more energy in use than required manufacturers.

What is ECOSE Technology?

  • Up to 70% less embodied energy than traditional binders.

  • Contains no phenol, formaldehyde, acrylics, or artificial colors.

  • No oil based-chemicals. Converts natural, rapidly renewable organic materials into a totally inert polymer for superior environmental sustainability.

You are about to see what happens when drywall is used in a basement against the manufacturer's installation recommendations.

Drywall/Gypsum, Cement Board, Mineral or Magnesium Board are great products used for other finishing or remodeling needs, but do not hold the proper qualities and values that would benefit you as a homeowner to use in a basement. When choosing your basement finishing system, remember to keep the following aspects on your check list:

PDoes it allow proper ventilation so I can prevent mold and mildew with a dehumidifier?

PCan I easily access behind the walls in case of an emergency regarding plumbing or electrical?

PAnd will I have to pay again to have it patched or a new wall reinstalled?

PIf cut or removed, will there be any health concerns with any particles released in the air?

PAre there any requirements with installation around my family because of health hazards regarding the product?

PWhat is the warranty? Does the company back their product 100% or is the warranty prorated?
